Today half of the team went to school at Shepherd Nazarene while the other half had a “day off.” We were informed yesterday that Lady Fatima would be closed today due to a funeral for one of their bishops. When Prof Moore heard of this possible “day off” she made sure that the rest of the team would be put to work. So as we waved goodbye to our Shepherd Nazarene student teachers the rest of us got to work cleaning the compound. The rooms were swept and moped. Loads of laundry were completed. 77 cookies were baked. We even went to Lady Fatima’s school yard and picked up trash around their campus. The day couldn’t be completed without stopping for a coke on the way home from school in the 92 degree weather. The day was a success even with the change of plans of having a “day off”. One thing we have learned while being in Belize is that you just got to keep smiling and waving even when nothing goes to plan and trust in the Lord constantly because He is where the JOY is!
