Hello again to everyone from Hannah (Franklin)! Ironically, I wrote on the first day and now again on the last day of school. As difficult as day one was, I'm sure we'd all agree today was much harder. After three weeks teaching, supporting, and loving our students, today we had to say good-bye. Our school day at Our Lady of Fatima was mainly a celebration of our time here. We led an assembly in the morning with all the students. It started with fun songs such as "Every move I make" and "Father Abraham" and ended with a scripture reading and prayer for the school. After lunch we had free time to play games with our students and it was a sweet time for all to enjoy being together. Ending out the day, we passed out final gifts to the students and teachers and distributed the materials that were donated. In return we received many hugs, notes from our students, and nice gifts from our teachers. There were many tears all around during those final goodbyes, but along with the sadness there was joy in having the opportunity to know this place and the students there as well. I know I have grown so much in my time teaching here, I am humbled by the way so many of these teachers serve with little materials and students in hard circumstances. My ability to teach has grown, and so has my passion for teaching. I have grown to understand more of how it is a service and mission to my students. As we leave, I hope you will join me in praying that our students have seen Christ in us and will continue to pursue relationships with the Lord.
As we leave we have been offered the opportunity to sponsor a child and many people on the team have chosen to sponsor a student from their class. If that is something you would be interested in considering or learning more about, you can follow the link to Body and Soul's web page below. Sponsoring a child provides for the students' tuition and school needs each year. Body and Soul has found that sponsored students are much more likely to continue school and finish high school than other students.
Thank you for continuing to be in prayer for us throughout the trip and following our adventures!
I have enjoyed following your adventures online each day! You have been Christ’s light bearers to these children in Belize. Safe travels!
🥹🥰🙌🏻 What a privilege it has been to follow your beautiful journey with Christ there in Belize! Thank you all for sharing. God bless you all for shining the light and love of Jesus into that community! 🙏🏻❤️
